The new multi-storey, purpose built facility linked to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital  on the health campus is the centrepiece of the Redevelopment Stage 3.

The new Stage 3 building, called the Health Services Hub, will provide sub acute, ambulatory, community and primary health care services from a single site on the campus. Find a list of services in the Health Services Hub here

The project brings to fruition the benefits of the entire Wagga Wagga Health Service Redevelopment and aims to delivery a contemporary and integrated health service to meet the needs of communities in Murrumbidgee Local Health District now and into the future.

Stage 3 also includes the refurbishment of a building in Wagga Wagga's central business district for BreastScreen NSW Wagga Wagga as well as additional car parking and landscaping on the Health Service campus.

This co-location of services ino the new Health Services Hub will allow for additional services and new models of health care through a greater emphasis on primary and community health, post-acute care, health promotion and chronic and complex disease management.

Key features of the Stage 3 project include: Ambulatory Clinics; Aboriginal Health; Aged Care Inpatient Unit, Older Person’s Mental Health Inpatient Unit, Allied Health, Administration hub; Community Mental Health; Drug and Alcohol Services; Education/library; Oral Health; Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit; Hospital In the Home, Renal; New retail facilities; new Extended Hours Service; additional car parking; landscaping; and the relocation of BreastScreen NSW into Wagga Wagga's CBD.

A range of services which operated from the Stage 3 construction site were relocated into temporary accommodation around the Wagga Wagga Health Service campus in early 2018. Other services are operating from offices in downtown Wagga Wagga.

Demolition work to clear the Stage 3 site also began in early 2018 and was completed by the end of 2018.

The contract for the Stage 3 main construction works was awarded to CPB Contractors Pty Ltd in December 2018.  Stage 3 construction commenced early 2019. Construction will take approximately two years, with operational commissioning in 2021.

Stage 3 is the third and final stage of the Wagga Wagga Health Service Redevelopment.
