New Main Entry
MAIN ENTRY AND PUBLIC PARKING
Friday 22 January 2021
The New Year means a new main entry to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital as part of the third and final stage of the $431 million Wagga Wagga Health Service (WWHS) Redevelopment.
The entry in the Health Services Hub (Stage 3 building) opens at 7am, Monday 1 February along with an internal ground floor corridor, known as Hospital Street, to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital and a new retail space.
Patients, visitors and staff must continue to undergo a COVID-19 screening and temperature check at the single main entry point through the new Health Services Hub..
The Stage 3 entry opening coincides with:
re-opening of the main entry/forecourt car park
opening of new drop-off zones parallel to the new Stage 3 building
opening of internal corridor called Hospital Street
opening of new ground floor toilet and parent room facilities.
relocation of WHSmith’s
Fresh +
café to a new retail space from 6am Wednesday 3 February.
Work continues throughout the six-floor building including construction of a new multi faith room, landscaping and other minor works for completion of construction.
The building completion and operational commissioning, including the relocation of approximately 400 staff and 60 health services from 12 separate sites, are scheduled for early this year. You can find frequently asked questions on the operational commissioning
