Wayfinding and Signage

Thursday 29 April 2021
The Wagga Wagga Base Hospital signage has been installed on the Health Services Hub.

The signage complements Wagga Wagga Base signage installed at the campus’ Edward Street entrance and on the ground floor of the Hospital.

The aluminium signage is on the roof of the level 4 external area of the new Health Services Hub which faces Edward Street.

There is also new wayfinding signage for the new Health Services Hub adjacent to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.

A part of the Redevelopment project is the planning, design and installation of wayfinding  and signage both external and internal to the new Health Services Hub.

This is important to help people including patients, consumers, visitors and staff find their way to and around the multi storey building.

Successful wayfinding and signage must be consistent, simple,  short, unambigious and in plain English.

In recognition of the Wiradjuri people as the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which the health campus sits, designated spaces in the Stage 3 building will have Wiradjuri names and descriptions. Find out more here.

The new signage for the Stage 3 building includes Wagga Wagga Base Hospital signage.

Design work for the signage on the new building is underway and will be completed as part of the Stage 3 project.

Construction and operational commissioning of the new building is due for completion in early 2021.

Signage on the 5th floor of the acute services building (Wagga Wagga Base Hospital) was removed in September 2020.

You can find a Fact Sheet from Murrumbidgee Local Health District (MLHD) on the signage removal here.
